Forest –  G I S “  solution

„ForestOffice LT“ comprises the creation of simple forest management plan with management of sections and subsections, fields, types of wood, quota of types of  wood, age, growing stock & increments in the context of internal database (WinGIS IDB). There are interfaces to excel and access for further data treatment.

The used PROGIS software named “WinGIS Standard“ offers for this purpose the following functionalities: Digitalization and construction functionalities, layer management, view management, creation of legends, printing of maps, IDB (internal database), imports (ASCII, AMP, DXF), exports (ASCII, AMP), editing objects, creating buffers (parallel lines/areas), analysing of area, area overlays, simple version of polygon partition, etc …

The basis is a map with:
  • Orthophoto (via local data supplier)
  • Cadatral data (via local cadastral office)

*Alternatives to WinGIS Standar are WinGIS Professional and WinGIS Professional+

Basing on the map following visualizations and analyses are possible:

  • Management of
    • sections
    • subsections
  • areas
    • types of wood
    • quota of types of wood
  • age
  • growing stock & increments
  • etc.

GPS add-on: GPS (with EGNOS-adjustment signal) positional accuracy <1-2 meter. It is possivle with the new highly sensitive DGPS receiver to measure in forest. The 20 channel DGPS receiver is working with the free EGNOS adjustment signal of European Union, with a positional accuracy less 2 meter became possible.

Hardware requirements:
PC/Notebook with at least 120 MB free hard-disk storage and at least 512 MB RAM (random access memory).

The system „ForestOffice Professional“ is a geographical information- and management system for forest holdings and enables the complete management of companies with one tool. The system comprises the forest kit database “Treeforst”, the GIS-system “WinGIS” and the orthoimage of a region.  

Realties, activities and plannings can be visualized in a cartographic way.
Our GIS-system “WinGIS” is in view of its functionalities graduated in different prices. The application is based upon the personal need of the users: from simple WinMAP, WinGIS Standard, WinGIS Professional to the WinGIS Professional +.

Forest kit database „Treeforst“

Functionalities:

Operator with management of sections and subsections, documentation and management of location and stock data, calculation of growing stock and increments about internal yield table (exchangeable), hit record calculation, planning and management of utilization and afforest, recording, considerable filter and search functions, supporting in resource management.
Cartography: the forest kit data are visualized directly as thematic map (age group maps, utilization map etc.). WinGIS is also parallel to that with orthoimages & standard internal database (spreadsheet and similar functionalities) qualified for any numbers of other uses e.g. hunt.

Range of use:

General planning and control of activities, draw up annual plans and medium term planning pools, budget calculation, project controlling/determination of status of all planned and executing activities.
